good question! indoors with constant light you can skip it, but if you're opening blinds or shooting near windows the ND saves you from blowing highlights when the sun hits. keeping f/4 = shallower depth, so it's still worth carrying.

Is this against YouTube's terms of service?
CommentMonster is built around YouTube's public Data API and the same comment-reply scopes creators use in-app. We throttle replies, vary phrasing, and default to human-review mode specifically to stay inside YouTube's spam and authenticity policies. You stay in control: auto mode is opt-in, and you can pause or approve replies at any time.
What if I get a channel strike?
In beta we stayed strike-free on the founder's channel by building in conservative rate limits and variance. We can't promise zero risk — that's true for any tool that touches YouTube — but the product is designed defensively: opt-in auto mode, comment-type filtering, and replay/pause controls.
Can I review replies before they go out?
Yes. Every account defaults to human-review mode. You see each drafted reply and approve with one click. Flip to auto-reply once you trust the voice.
Does it match how I actually write?
On Pro and Agency, we train a voice profile from your past replies and channel content. Starter uses a lightweight tone-match based on a short questionnaire. Either way, replies sound like you, not like a bot.
Which languages are supported?
English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, and Japanese at launch. Auto-detects the language of the incoming comment.
What does 'local LLM' mean — do I need to run anything?
Nothing. We handle inference on our infra. The founder's prototype used a local model to validate feasibility cheaply. Paid plans run on quality-tuned hosted models so your replies are fast and consistent.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly plans cancel at the end of the billing cycle. Annual plans get a prorated refund in the first 30 days.
